Division of Clinical and Health Psychology of Cyprus Psychologists Association conducts conference, titled “Psychology and Health: Best Practices in Practice”, aiming to bring research and application together to an interdisciplinary level among health professionals and paramedical professionals related to Health and Psychology: Psychologists, Medical doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Social Workers, and Psychiatrists.

The conference will be held on 20th and 21st of October 2018, at University of Cyprus, in cooperation with local operators (Cyprus Nurses and Midwives Association, Pancyprian Association of Physiotherapists, Cyprus Association of Social Workers, Antirheumatic Cyprus Association, Cyprus Medical Association, Psychiatric Society of Cyprus). In addition, psychologists from European Federation Psychological Association (EFPA), to which CYPSA is a member, will participate. The conference will be under the auspices of the Health Minister

The conference will be held under the auspices of the Minister of Health.

On the first day of conference there will be oral presentations and posters relating to research and application of health and psychology in Cyprus and abroad, along with a round table discussion with a multidisciplinary participation regarding the application of multidisciplinary approach in Cyprus. On the second day, workshops will be held for health professionals.

Students and professionals can post individual presentations regarding Health and Psychology. The departments, which are responsible for the education of these professionals as mentioned before, can send 5 abstracts for posters regarding the following themes to this email address clinicalandhealth@cypsa.org.cy :

  • Psychological adaptation and illness
  • Prevention and promotion of health behaviours
  • Interventions in patients with chronic diseases and/ or carers
  • Changes in health behaviours
  • Health policies and programs interventions in Public Health
  • Well-being and quality of life

 

The abstract should be no more than 250 words. In these words, don’t include bibliography, tables and graphs. You can add: Aims, theoretical theme, methodology, tools, results and conclusions, empirical importance of the poster.
